Universal accessibility ensures equal conditions for people with disabilities, a right recognized both in the Spanish Constitution and in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2006). It includes both physical accessibility (for those with reduced mobility) as well as sensory and cognitive accessibility.
To make this right a reality, ACS Foundation contributes through a specific program to all activities and projects aimed at enabling people with disabilities to participate in civic life, particularly with regard to accessibility to heritage sites. It also promotes the exchange of experiences and best practices in universal accessibility and design for all among municipal technicians, and develops training activities for professionals and university students in various formats.
